Supported Banks & Financial Institutions
Digits connects to banks and credit cards using Plaid. Most major U.S. banks and many U.S.-based credit unions are supported.
For more information on what banks are supported, see: Digits Availability, Banks, and Currency Support
What does "supported" mean?
Digits connects to banks and credit cards using Plaid.
A bank or financial institution is considered supported if:
It’s available through Plaid, and
It allows transaction data to be shared programmatically
Most major U.S. banks and many U.S.-based credit unions meet these requirements.
Does Digits support international banks?
No. Digits does not support:
Non-U.S. banks
International-only financial institutions
Foreign bank feeds, even for U.S.-based users
Digits relies on U.S. banking infrastructure and USD-based accounting.
International support is on our radar and on our roadmap. We don’t have timelines to announce yet—but when support lands, you’ll see it in the Digits changelog.
What if my client’s bank isn’t supported by Plaid?
As long as your client's transactions are in USD, you can import them using a .csv.
What Happens After Connection
Once a client’s bank is connected, Digits automatically gets to work:
Imports up to 24 months of historical transactions.
Captures key transaction fields:
Date
Amount
Description (including party info, where available)
✨ Categorizes transactions automatically and assigns parties intelligently.
Starts a frequent sync to keep data continuously updated.
Can’t Connect to a Bank? Use CSV Import
If a client’s bank isn’t supported through Plaid, you can import transactions manually:
Export a CSV file from the client’s bank.
From your client’s dashboard, go to Ledger → All Transactions.
Click the dropdown next to New Transaction → Import Bank Transactions.
Download and fill out the CSV template.
Upload the file and map the fields.
Select the correct bank or card category, then click Next.

Managing A Client's Bank Connection
Managing your client’s bank connections in Digits helps keep data current, accurate, and secure. You can pause, archive, or delete a connection directly from your client’s dashboard when needed.
Important: Before You Remove a Connection
Deleting a connection permanently removes all related transactions from Digits. This can affect reconciliations, balances, and financial reports — so review carefully before proceeding.
If you just want to stop syncing temporarily, consider pausing or archiving instead.
How to Manage a Bank Connection
Log in to your client’s dashboard.
In the left-hand menu, click Connections.
Select the My Connections tab.
Click Manage next to the bank or card connection you want to update.
See: Pause, Archive, or Delete a Connection
Automatic Statement Fetching via Plaid
Digits automatically fetches official bank statements from supported institutions — no manual uploads required.
Statements appear directly in the Documents tab, keeping everything centralized for audits and reporting.
Currently supported banks include: Wells Fargo, Bank of America, U.S. Bank, Citibank Online, Navy Federal Credit Union, Regions Bank, Fifth Third Bank, Huntington Bank, Truist, Acorns, Mercury, Meow, Slash, Chariot, Parker, Klutch, Spruce, Double Finance, Mass Finance Inc., GuideStone Financial Resources, Dappr, Crew Finance, Percapita Group, Cogent Bank (Personal & Business), Atlas, Safra National Bank, American Bank (TX), and CCBank (Business & Personal).
Troubleshooting & Reconnecting Banks
If data looks stale or incomplete:
Reconnect the bank from the Connections page (using the same steps above).
Ensure all accounts meant to sync are still selected during the Plaid flow.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Digits have a plan for global expansion?
International support is on our radar and on our roadmap. We don’t have timelines to announce yet—but when support lands, you’ll see it in the Digits changelog.
Why can’t I connect a treasury or investment account?
Treasury and investment accounts fall under a category that Digits doesn’t support—yet.
In the meantime, you can still stay organized by uploading treasury statements to the Documents tab or tracking balances manually using a journal entry
What if my client’s bank requires MFA/2FA?
Some banks require multi-factor authentication each time Plaid connects. If this causes sync issues:
Temporarily disable MFA/2FA in the bank’s settings, then reconnect through Digits
Use Continue as Guest in Plaid to avoid tying the feed to a personal Plaid login (important when managing multiple clients)
What if I connected the wrong bank account, or want to remove one later?
You can pause, archive, or delete the existing connection and then add the new one—no need to start from scratch.
