Linking Only Business Accounts with Chase on Digits

This document is for clients who have both personal and business accounts with Chase and outlines the process for linking only their Chase business accounts to Digits.

Before You Connect: Use the Owner Login

If your client uses Chase for both business and personal banking, or has multiple Chase accounts, it's essential to log in using the business owner's credentials during the Digits → Plaid connection flow.

Why this matters:

  • Only the owner login can choose which specific accounts to share with Digits.

  • If an admin or other user starts the connection, the account selection screen may not appear, and all accounts under that Chase login can be shared with Digits.

  • This is enforced by both Plaid’s flow and Chase’s security settings.

1

Step 1: Modify Account Sharing on Chase

  1. Log in to chase.com.

  2. Go to the Security & Privacy tab.

  1. In the Linked Apps & Websites section, find Digits via Plaid.

  1. Click Edit Sharing.

  2. Select only the accounts you want to share.

  3. Click I Agree to save changes.

2

Step 2: Disconnect the Chase Connection in Digits

Once these steps have been completed, you can log into your Digits Dashboard and remove your Chase Connection following the steps below.

Remove the Existing Chase Connection on Digits

  1. From your client's dashboard, click Connections from the left navigation menu.

  2. Click Manage next to your Chase connection.

  3. Click on Archive.

  4. Click on Delete.

3

Step 3: Add the Chase Connection Again

Now reconnect Chase in Digits:

  1. Go back to Connections.

  2. Click Add Connection.

  3. Follow the prompts through Plaid.

  4. You'll only see the Chase accounts you've approved for sharing.

Tips & Troubleshooting

  • Still seeing personal accounts? Double-check the Edit Sharing settings on chase.com and ensure only business accounts are selected. Then repeat the disconnect/reconnect steps in Digits.

  • Wrong Chase user showing up? Try logging out of Chase completely or using an incognito/private browser window, then restart the connection flow from Digits using your owner login.
