How to Pause, Archive, or Delete a Connection in Digits

If you've closed a bank account or no longer want to use a specific connection in Digits, you can archive it. Archiving removes the connection from your active list and clears any related alerts—like reminders to re-authorize.

Pause vs. Archive: What’s the difference?

Action

What it does

Best used when...

Pause

Stops importing new data, but keeps the connection active. Existing transactions stay in the ledger.

You're temporarily pausing activity and may reconnect later.

Archive

Permanently disables the connection. No new data will be imported, but existing data remains.

The account is fully closed or no longer relevant.

Note: Archiving removes the connection from view and stops any re-authorization reminders or alerts.

Delete

After you archive a connection, you'll have the option to delete it. Deleting a connection permanently removes all the transactions tied to it.

You want to remove all the transactions from a connection.

Warning: Deleting a connection removes all its transactions, which can affect reconciliations and reports. Double-check before proceeding.

1. Log in your firm's dashboard.

2. Click on the Client that you need to manage connections for.

3. In the left navigation menu, click on Connections.

4. Click All Connections.

5. Click on the connection you'd like to manage.

6. Select Pause or Archive
