Using your Home dashboard

Welcome to your Digits home dashboard—a centralized space designed to provide seamless access to the insights and metrics that drive your business. Here, core metrics, live KPIs, and key financial statements put finance directly at your fingertips. Whether you're monitoring revenue, cash flow, runway, or burn, your finances are all in one place—accessible, insightful, and up to date.

In this guide, we will cover how to edit and customize your dashboard, share it with others, adjust the date range, and search for specific components. Let's begin!

Edit Home Dashboard

You have the option to customize your dashboard by adding or removing components, and rearranging the layout. This allows you to tailor the dashboard to display the information that is most relevant to you and your business.

  1. To get started, head to your Digits account.
  2. Navigate to the home tab if you're not already there.
  3. Click "Edit" in the top right corner of the dashboard. This will move you into the editor view.
    • To remove a component – simply select the "..." in the top right section of that component, and select "Delete".
    • To add a component  – Use the search bar on the right hand of the screen to find the relevant metric, or data you want to add. Once you've found it via the tabs, or using search – simply click, and drag it over to the dashboard and drop it where you'd like it to appear.
  4. You can also rearrange your dashboard by just dragging your components around and placing them in the location that works best for you. As you move components around, you will see them dynamically adjust based on the space available.
  5. When you're happy with your customization, select "Done" in the top right.

Search for Components

  1. There will be a search panel on the right-hand side of the screen. Which provides 5 primary ways to find the information you're looking for:
    • Metrics Tab: This view will highlight common metrics used by business owners such as cash flow, runway, burn, etc.
    • Statements Tab: This view will provide common financial statements such as your balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and cash flow.
    • List Tab: This view will aggregate data into lists pertaining to your finances covering things like your Top Vendors, Top Expense categories, etc.
    • Custom Tab: Allows you to input custom metrics or data into your dashboard. This provides two components, one for text, and one for a manual KPI, that you can add details to in the chance the metric or information you're looking for doesn't already exist in Digits.
    • Search: The search function allows you to search across any of the above, as well as find any specific data within Digits. You can use this function to find specific vendors, suppliers, or even categories with your chart of accounts you'd like to monitor.
  2. Once you've found exactly what you're looking for, just drag and drop it onto your dashboard.

Change Home dashboard date range

  1. To get started, head to your Digits account.
  2. Navigate to the home tab if you're not already there.
  3. In the top left, click "Today".
  4. This will open a date range picker where you can select specific months, quarters, years, or choose from common presets.
  5. Select the desired date range and click set.
  6. All the data in your dashboard components will update automatically to reflect the newly selected range.

Share your Home Dashboard

  1. To get started, head to your Digits account.
  2. Navigate to the home tab if you're not already there.
  3. In the top right, select "Invite User"
  4. Fill in the user's details (name, and email) and customize the message accordingly.
  5. Select "Invite user"

Keep in mind – inviting a user to Digits gives them full access to the platform, so please add users accordingly.
