Understanding and using the Analysis tab

Welcome to the Analysis Tab in Digits—a powerful tool designed to provide deep insights and a granular view of your financial data. Here, you can analyze by category or vendor, and identify trends and patterns that are crucial for making informed decisions regarding your expenses and revenue. This guide will walk you through using the Analysis Tab to maximize its capabilities.


How to Use the Analysis Tab

Toggle Between Expenses and Revenue

  1. Head to my.digits.com and navigate to the Analysis Tab.
  2. Use the toggle button at the top left of the screen to switch between viewing expenses and revenue.

This flexibility allows you to focus on the financial aspect that is most critical to your analysis.


Filter by Categories or Vendors

  1. On the main Analysis screen, on the right of the expense/revenue toggle, you can filter your data by categories or vendors.
  2. Select either "Category" or "Vendor" to apply the desired filter.
  3. The data below will update accordingly, and you can now choose specific categories or vendors to refine the data you're analyzing even further.
  4. Click into the appropriate category or vendor to get further into the details. You can continue drilling down by simply clicking into the area of interest. 


Look at Specific Transactions

  1. Within the Analysis Tab, toggle to the "transaction" view to see a breakdown of all transactions. Keep in mind, the transaction list will only contain transactions relating to revenue or expenses, depending on which filter is currently selected. 
  2. Click on any transaction to view its detailed breakdown.


Adjusting the Date Range

  1. Head to my.digits.com and navigate to the Analysis Tab.
  2. Find the date range selector in the top left corner.
  3. Use the presets to toggle to specific months, quarters, or years, then click "set".
  4. All the data, insights, and highlights below will update accordingly.


If you've filtered the data and are analyzing specifics before setting the date range, no worries, as you have the option to adjust the date range in the filtered views.



Using Insights and Highlights

  1. Head to my.digits.com and navigate to the Analysis Tab.
  2. Digits will autopopulate key insights, just below the initial graph, to help you understand key things that are changing across your business. 
  3. Click into the individual insight to understand the category, vendor, and changes more deeply.



By utilizing all these different functions on the Analysis Tab, you can efficiently navigate your financial data and derive actionable insights with ease. Dive in and make informed financial decisions with precision and clarity.
