### Search Transactions

You can use **vendor + amount** patterns to quickly narrow down specific transactions.\
For example, try typing:

* **Amazon 250**

This helps pinpoint a transaction when you know *who* it involved and *about how much* it was.

From there, you can:

* **Expand full search results** for more context
* **Jump into the Ledger** to apply filters, review details, or take bulk actions

### Best Practices & Tips

* **Ask one clear question at a time.** Short, focused prompts work best.
* **Keep it simple.** Questions like *“What was Gusto payroll spend last month?”* perform better than multi-part prompts.
* **Ask follow-ups.** Use its response as a jumping board. Have a conversation to get more information or guide it in the right direction.
* **Use it as a starting point.** Treat Ask Digits like a helpful assistant—confirm important details in the Ledger or Financials, especially before sending anything to clients.
* **Share feedback.** If something feels confusing, incorrect, or incomplete, send an example to Support. That input directly helps improve Ask Digits.

You can collapse Ask Digits into the bottom-right corner of the screen to free up space while you work.

By default, Ask Digits stays expanded in main views and automatically collapses when you open a details view. You can also choose to keep it collapsed in both main and detail views.

To collapse Ask Digits, hover over it and click the **`>`** button to the right of the search bar.
