Automated Quality Control
Automated Quality Control (QC) helps operators catch issues in a business’s books before close. QC runs automated checks continuously, then surfaces anything that may need review as action items in the Review section of the Checklist.
Digits QC is built for consistency and reliability, so operators can apply the same review standards every month without manually rechecking the same criteria.

Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
Transactions whose memo or line descriptions contain personally identifiable information: Social Security numbers, email addresses, phone numbers, credit card numbers, and bank routing numbers. Card and routing numbers are checksum-validated, so ordinary reference and invoice numbers don't trigger it.
Transaction in Parent Category

Unusual Spend
Expense categories whose monthly spend is 3 standard deviations above or below the usual amount. For the most recent month, only overages are flagged.
Turning Quality Checks On or Off
Open the Checklist to either the Book or Review section.
Click Edit Agent Instructions, or click the gear icon next to any flagged check group.

Confirm the change in the prompt that appears.
How to Customize Quality Checks
Most checks can be customized with plain English instructions. Just describe what you want Digits to look for, and Digits turns those instructions into a reliable check.
To edit a check's instructions:
Open the Checklist and click Edit Agent Instructions, or click the gear icon next to any flagged check group

Select the check you want to enable or disable from the left (e.g., Uncategorized, Missing Vendor, Missing Customer)
Click Edit.

Click Preview
Click Save and Run to apply your instructions and run the check. Or, click Cancel to go back and make changes.
✨ Once you click Save and Run, the updated check runs immediately across transactions. Action items in the checklist will update to reflect the new results. A status indicator will show when the run is complete.
